Your Local Windshield Repair & Replacement Pros

Can my windshield be repaired or does it need to be replaced?

When chips in your windshield are smaller than the size of a quarter, they can usually be repaired. Any chip larger than that will require a full windshield replacement. However, every chip is unique and if you feel unsure, it’s better to trust the repair vs. replace decision to a professional.

The location of the rock chip is also considered when discussing repair vs. replace. If the chip in your windshield is anywhere in the driver’s line of sight as they sit in the driver seat, you may want to consider replacing over a repair as the repaired rock chip will be slightly visible (depending on the chip size) and my cause visibility issues for the driver.

Can you fix a crack in a windshield?

We can fix some cracks. Usually a crack that is no longer than 6 inches can be repaired. Again, the location of the crack does come into play like the rock chip stated above. If it’s in the driver’s line of sight, it may be better to replace vs. repair.

How long do your services take?

For a rock chip repair, you can figure on anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the chip and how fast it fills in.

For a windshield replacement, you can figure on a minimum of 1 ½ hours up to 3 hours if an ADAS Recalibration is needed as well. We will not let the vehicle leave our shop until it is safe for you to drive.

Do you provide a guarantee?

We guarantee all of our work.  We also guarantee our rock chip repairs not to spread. If in the event that happens, we will credit the cost of the repair towards the windshield replacement.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes, we work with all insurance companies. If you want to file an insurance claim, you will have to notify your insurance company and let them know that Siouxland Glass will be doing the work. Then all you need to do is provide your insurance card and vehicle registration when we do the work so we can put the required information on the invoice and that’s it. We will send the invoice to your insurance company for you and take care of the rest.

The only other thing you may be required to cover is paying the deductible (if there is one) directly to Siouxland Glass after the work to your vehicle is completed.

Does insurance cover 100% of my windshield repair cost?

Yes, as long as you have full coverage on your vehicle a windshield repair should be 100% covered by your insurance company. In some cases a few companies require you to have a 0.00 or zero deductible in order to have your windshield repair 100% paid for by them.
