Siouxland Glass offers ADAS Calibration using the Autel MaxiSys MA600. We will recalibrate your vehicle in shop when we replace your windshield. Due to certain parameters required by the equipment, we can only perform recalibrations in one of our two locations currently and not on mobile installations.
However, if you are a glass installer and want us to come to your shop to do the recalibration after you perform an installation of a windshield we have that capability as well. This allows you to offer a complete windshield replacement option for your customers without the added cost of the expensive equipment required. What is ADAS Calibration?
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System. Calibration is the process of returning a vehicle’s ADAS to OEM specifications. A vehicle’s computer relies on the cameras/radars/lasers used by the ADAS being in the correct alignment to function properly but does not automatically adjust them itself.
How can I tell if I need ADAS Calibration on my vehicle?
If your vehicle has LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) where it beeps, vibrates the seat, automatically keeps the vehicle in the current lane you’re driving in or if it has any type of front collision alert, then you have a camera that is mounted to the windshield near the rear view mirror on the upper center.
The easiest way to tell if a vehicle has a camera mounted to the windshield is to look from the outside of the vehicle at the upper top center near where the rear view mirror is mounted. There will be a black area and in that area near the rear view mirror mount, if you see a triangular clear window then you have some sort of ADAS. In this case when the windshield is replaced the ADAS camera must be returned to OEM specs.

One of the main purposes of ADAS is to minimize or prevent the negative impacts of unfortunate events such as collisions. The system does this through a series of audio and visual alerts. There can be many ADAS features installed in a car, but the most common ones are:

Does insurance cover the cost of ADAS Calibration?
Yes, insurance covers the cost of ADAS camera and motion sensor recalibration as long as you have glass replacement coverage on your vehicle.
